Nai Wang, President
Nai Wang is dedicated to education and the arts. As a founding member of KP Systems since 1997, he had a dream to combine his two loves to help improve education, computers and cooking. His dedication goes beyond his company as he is very active in the arts education advocacy in his community. Nai currently sits on the board of directors for AAAE (Arizona Alliance for Arts Education) where their mission is to advocate for growing and retaining arts education in public schools. Since 2003 he has been working tirelessly to keep arts in public schools through this organization and the Kennedy Center. Nai is also the current president for the board of directors of PCM (Phoenix Conservatory of Music), whose sole mission is to facilitate music and academic classes for underserved schools through its staff of teaching artists in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Since joining PCM in 2006, Nai has helped expand the organization's impact threefold. PCM now conducts classes in over 50 schools in the valley impacting over 20,000 students.
Before KP, Nai has always been very active in education dating as far back as high school. During his time as a student in public education, computers were emerging as not only productivity tools but teachers were beginning to see the potential as teaching tools. He would often find himself programming computers and he was active in many clubs on campus including the Academic Decathlon, Mu Alpha Theta, Toastmasters, and NHS. He was president of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and COE (Corporative Office Education). Nai was also very active with his church, volunteering many hours in their youth program with Les Hughey.
At ASU, Nai opted to study psychology while maintaining many computer courses as electives and took graduate level courses on distance learning and instructional design. He also served as president of Phi Theta Kappa for 2 years. During this time, he met his current business partner, Mike Murray, who had a vision of creating training programs for food service operations. During his entire education, Nai worked at his father’s Chinese restaurants until he graduated in 1997.
Nai was also very active in the community starting and expanding his local block watch from 37 homes to 144 over the course of three years. He also served on public committees with the Paradise Valley Unified School District, serving for 1.5 years on a long range planning committee.
Immediately after graduating college, Nai set forward to employ his computer skills with his experience in food service and partnered up with Chef Dominic O’Neill to create the Sous Chef as a training aide for high school culinary teachers.
Nai loves what he does, impacting the lives of students and teachers, and he plans to use his expertise in technology to help create a better future for all.
