Since 1997 KP Culinary Educational Systems has
been developing, publishing, and licensing educational
content in the United States. It has developed The
Sous Chef™, instructor-led support software for Culinary Arts programs in high schools, junior colleges, vocational institutions and individual businesses. The Sous Chef™ has
been used in schools by teachers and students across
the country since 1999.
Michael Murray and Nai-Yih Wang started KP Systems Multimedia in 1993 to provide corporate training, multimedia design, and programming services to clients such as Honeywell, American Express, Jennie-O Foods, and Fannie Mae.
Michael Murray and Dominic O'Neill shared
a vision of improving education for all students,
no matter what learning style to which they best
responded. A new corporation (KP Culinary) was formed
to pursue this vision. Since then, it has designed,
written and produced The Sous Chef™ (a
French phrase meaning "under the chef" or
the chef's assistant.)
Nai Wang along with Jim Murray, Sean Dolphin, and Jonathan Major has
taken the Sous Chef™ and formed KP Education Systems to bring the Sous Chef™ to
all cities in America as well as transform it and
bring to the consumer market nationwide. Besides
culinary arts, KP Education Systems is dedicated
to create new products and resources to niche areas
in all of education.
Today, The Sous Chef™ is used by over 800
schools and businesses to aid culinary arts instruction.
This represents about 100,000 student users.
